Dustin Keller visiting Patriots

A year ago Dustin Keller looked like he was going to be a nice fantasy fit with the Miami Dolphins. A pure pass catcher at tight end, Keller had four seasons between 45-65 catches for a Jets team that didn't exactly throw the ball all over the yard.

A preseason knee injury scotched all that, and since Keller was on a one-year deal, his 2014 status remains uncertain. But he's reportedly visiting the Patriots, and if his health is right and he signs, his fantasy prospects will look awfully good.

In Keller's last full season with the Jets (2011), he caught 65 balls for 815 yards and 5 TDs. He played in just eight games in 2012 and missed all of last season, but New England has a favorable recent history of getting the ball to the tight end. They were never able to replace Aaron Hernandez's production last season, with current Jet Zach Sudfeld a noteworthy early flop, but Keller would fit the bill.

New England already has one tight end coming off a torn ACL, of course, in Rob Gronkowski. It's not even certain he'll be ready for the start of the season, and Keller's injury was severe enough last preseason that his status is also in doubt.

But if you're in a dynasty league with the waiver wire open now and Keller is out there, he's worth a quick pickup, just in case.
