Kansas City roster

Kansas City was a playoff team last year, but it was a tale of two seasons. They tore up the league in the first half of the season but faltered down the stretch, losing the AFC West title to Denver and getting bounced in their first playoff game. Where will the fantasy performers be on their roster this year?

There's Jamaal Charles, of course, but a lot of questions after that. This article at the Kansas City Star lays out the roster at each position, including the sure things and the long shots.

Dwayne Bowe looked great during offseason workouts, so he's a player to consider. Donnie Avery is the nominal No. 2 wideout, but Kansas City might be hoping for a youngster to step up there. After Charles, there's Knile Davis, rookie DeAnthony Thomas, Cyrus Gray and Joe McKnight. Davis figures to be the handcuff, but there should be another viable back to help replace Dexter McCluster. Thomas has the most upside, including as a receiver out of the slot.

The team should also have an interesting player at tight end, probably second-year guy Travis Kelce. Injured as a rookie, he's a better receiver than Anthony Fasano. He's a guy to track in the preseason.

There isn't a lot of preseason excitement for anyone on the roster but Charles, but there should be another viable player or two. Davis, certainly, is a guy to consider late in drafts, and maybe Bowe or even Kelce, depending on how the offense looks in August.
