The Dolphins offensive line was a disaster both on the field and off it last year, with Ryan Tannehill getting sacked 58 times and the early-season starters finding their way into injury, suspension and release. Thus far, 2014 isn't starting out much better.
Miami now has a pair of brand-new tackles in Brandon Albert and top pick JaWuan James, so their protection should eventually be better. But early on, those guys are struggling with pass rushers Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon.
And that's far from the biggest concern, with Mike Pouncey (hip surgery) expected to miss up to half the season. The loss of their center is having a ripple effect, with guard Shelley Smith struggling thus far at center, and the guard duo (currently second-year Dallas Thomas and journeyman Daryn Colledge) a lesser pair.
Miami has a young quarterback and a couple of ordinary running backs -- Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno, who will need quality blocking to put up good numbers. Early on, things don't look promising for them getting it.
