The entries for the Fantasy Index Open are in. Gives us a chance to see what the general consensus is on players. That is, not how I rank the players, but how the community sees them.
There are 166 entries in this poll. I thank those who took on the sizeable time commitment needed to put together a top 20 at all six positions. One of those guys, of course, will capture the monster trophy that will be awarded in January by the team at Affordable Trophies. The top 2 finishers will win spots in the Experts Poll in next year’s magazine.
I’ll share the consensus rankings for each position in the coming days. Starting with the defenses (since they’re the easiest to manage).
Everyone seems to agree that Seattle has a great defense. It showed up in the top 4 on every entry. That’s the No. 1 unit, followed by two others from the NFC West.
Seattle got 93 percent of its highest possible score. A notch down to the Rams and 49ers. Essentially no difference between Carolina and Denver, which duked it out for 4th and 5th.
Similarly, very little spread between New England and Cincinnati. Arizona, Kansas City and New Orleans complete the top 10.
Dallas ranked dead last, just behind the Raiders. Washington, Atlanta and Jacksonville were the other teams in the bottom 5.
