LeVeon Bell is on pace to finish the year with 2,172 yards (combined yards – rushing and receiving). Yet he’s scored only 2 TDs. That’s weird.
It’s unusual – hardly possible, it seems – for a running back to put up those kind of yards without falling into the end zone more often.
In NFL history, 61 running backs have gone over 2,000. One of those guys scored at a Bell-type rate. The Giants pulled Tiki Barber in goal-line situations in 2006, so he scored only 5 TDs.
One other back scored only 7; Herschel Walker in the year before the historic trade.
Seven others scored 8-9 touchdowns. But the other 52 all scored double-digit touchdowns.
