Week 13 Super League

My not-so-super Super League team rolls onward. It's been a pretty mediocre run for me, mired in the 150s. Mistakes were made, as they say. It's good practice for those daily fantasy leagues, but it says something that even with no salary cap restrictions I'm not dominating this thing. Almost all of my long haul fantasy teams are doing quite well; that's more my bag.

But still, it's a new week with new promise, so maybe this is the week I win this thing.

The rules are simple. Pick 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 PKs each week. Highest point total from that starting lineup wins the week.

You can sign up to play at the Fantasy Index Super League page. Fun weekly prizes, and an overall champion who gets to draft or auction with the experts in next year's preseason magazine.

Quarterbacks: Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. Every week I haven't started Manning I've regretted it. Rodgers faces the Patriots, ooh. But he's home, it should be a high-scoring game, and I give New England a better chance of shutting down the ground game than Rodgers. He'll probably run for a touchdown in this game, as well.

Running Backs: LeVeon Bell and Arian Foster. Bell faces the Saints, and if you watched any of the Monday game (or lost to Justin Forsett...grrr....) you know the Saints are god-freaking-awful against the run. Sorry, I'm still very bitter about the whole thing. That was a great team I had that wins a playoff game if the Saints do no more than hold Forsett to, you know, 150 yards. Sigh. Foster, if he's not practicing, will not be my pick against the sorry Titans run defense. I will instead be looking at DeMarco Murray, if it's clear by Thursday whether Foster returns, or Jamaal Charles.

Wide Receivers: Calvin Johnson, T.Y. Hilton, Antonio Brown. Nothing special here. Johnson is great and should have a big turkey day, Hilton will torch the Washington secondary, Brown should romp against the Saints.

Tight Ends: Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. Gronk in primetime against the Packers? Sold. Graham playing anyone on any field at any time? Sure, sounds good.

Kickers: Dan Bailey and Justin Tucker. If we used defenses, I would be all over Miami facing the Jets, obviously, and also like the Lions against the Bears.

Good luck to all of you.
