Julio Jones is out

In a blow to the hopes of many fantasy playoff teams, Falcons WR Julio Jones -- fresh off of consecutive 189- and 259-yard efforts -- will miss today's game with his hip injury. Word broke last night that Jones can barely run and would have been a decoy had he played anyway, so maybe this is for the best. In any event, get Jones out of your lineups, and check our NewsBlast for status updates on other players.

HELP! Times short! Hearing J.Jones is OUT, initially sounds great (having Roddy White) BUT, doesn't that also mean much more attention (and coverage) shifted to Roddy's side that could actually HURT his production? IMO, Pitt has crap at the CB position, BUT, Roddy White is not Megatron (or the likes), surely as weak as Pitt DB's are, they still are NFL starters and if it's Double Coverage on RW, can he still produce big? BTW: alternative is A. Hopkins (which I like) BUT SAME THING, with Johnson out, situation seems similar. For some reason over the years I've had great success with selected NUMBER #2 Recievers, as they are often left alone. I.e. Golden Tate, J. Matthews etc... HELP! White or Hopkins? I got 30 minutes!

I think both guys are viable options. But I've got White higher on my board. I think they'll have some success passing. Still think Matt Ryan can move it, at home against that defense. With Houston, I have more concerns with the team either running the ball or simply having problems moving it at all. Indy has been tough at times at home. I am faced with same decision in a playoff game. I have put White in and left Hopkins on the bench.

With Julio out td I am debating in a ppr league douglas, jordan matthews, and kenny stills for two spots. What are your thoughts?

PPR league. I've got to think Douglas will catch a healthy chunk of passes. I don't recall how the rankings worked out on Friday. I don't have them in front of me. Matthews has caught a lot of touchdowns with Sanchez at quarterback, and Stills looks good in that MNF game against lesser Chicago defense. But gut tells me to use Douglas.

I don't think you get into reasoning with Bryant and Allen. Bryant is just the way better player. You would have to come up with compelling reasons to start Allen before him. I don't have time to check the numbers, but if you were to look at the last 20 games for these guys, I would guess Bryant beats Allen 70-80 percent of the time. He's the guy, and you don't come back and start second-guessing yourself on that 20 percent of the time that Allen happens to come out on top.

I'll go Allen over M.Bryant. Catches more passes and has the nice history against Denver. A tough call though.
