Russell Wilson is 11-0 against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, which is pretty remarkable.
Eight of those games were played at home, which helps. The only three away from Century Link were the Super Bowl win over the Broncos last year, and a pair against Eli Manning.
Some of those home wins were unlikely. They needed overtime to beat Denver and Green Bay this year. Back in 2012, they beat the Packers on a blown call (the Fail Mary), and needed a late touchdown bomb to pull out a 24-23 win against New England.
Mostly, it’s been more about the defense than Russell Wilson. It’s been remarkable in those games.
In those 11 games, those Super Bowl winning quarterbacks (who’ve all been Super Bowl MVPs) threw 17 interceptions versus only 13 touchdowns. The turnover total is remarkable, considering over 70 percent of these games were against Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady – guys who don’t tend to turn the ball over.
