I am surprised how good kickers have gotten at field goals over the years. They keep getting better and better. And impossibly great as they were a few years ago, they’re even better now.
Even the long kicks seem pretty routine nowadays. The league average on field goals over 50 yards is now over 60 percent.
Over the last three years, 20 kickers have attempted at least 10 field goals form 50-plus yards. Only three of those kickers have converted fewer than half of them.
