There's not a lot going on in the NFL right now, and what is going on is generally offseason fluff. Players are ahead of schedule on their various recoveries from injuries, and look good in non-contact drills and whatnot.
Still, if you have or are planning to have an investment in any Tennessee Titans this season, it's nice to see reports of them looking good as opposed to being a bunch of stumblebums. And that's what Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean has to say about Marcus Mariota and Bishop Sankey so far.
Mariota will have a lot to learn as far as running an NFL offense, but he has appeared up to the task in Wyatt's eyes. OK, "not yet come close to embarrassing himself" is modest praise at best, but it's something.
Regarding Sankey, Wyatt confesses to being impressed with his work in non-contact drills. Yes it's non-contact, but you've got to start somewhere.
No one is saying to build a team around these players, but a nice start from Mariota is good for every Titan skill position player. And Sankey certainly won't be a hot commodity in drafts this year, but he is (currently) a starting running back, who should come fairly cheaply.
Just a couple of players to keep an eye on as we head toward training camp.
