Rashad Jennings didn't do much for the Giants a year ago; didn't even lead the team in rushing. That was Andre Williams, the team's fourth-round pick, and now they've added Shane Vereen into the mix. Most likely, the three will all play in a committee this season.
But this article at NJ.com suggests New York may lean on Jennings more than expected. It notes that neither Williams nor Vereen was particularly effective as a ballcarrier a year ago. Williams had too many short or negative runs, and so did Vereen in New England.
We discussed this in the magazine, with the idea being that the Giants would likely use a committee of the three players. But another possibility is that Williams simply doesn't have a role, and it's Jennings getting virtually all of the carries and Vereen playing in passing situations.
Williams was better than Jennings around the goal line last year, but it is still possible Jennings gets those chances. If he does, he'll likely be undervalued in drafts; a nice potential feature player in a good offense (albeit with only a two-down role).
