Jermaine Gresham

Veteran free agent making the rounds

For some, the tight end position is only marginally more interesting than the kicker position in fantasy football. Some leagues don't require you to start one, lumping them in with wide receivers, and the way the position currently shakes out in the NFL, you can probably wait on a selection once Rob Gronkowski is off the board -- the 7th or 8th TE drafted might be just as good as the 2nd.

But still, if you need to start a tight end, you'll want to draft a busy pass catcher in a quality offense, so it bears watching where former Bengal Jermaine Gresham ends up. He's visited New Orleans, Arizona and now Green Bay recently.

Gresham isn't what you would call a downfield threat (7.4 yards per catch last season), and his former team has shown no interest in bringing him back. But he caught 62 passes and 5 TDs last year, and averages 56 catches over his career. Put him in Green Bay's offense, where there's only Richard Rodgers and a possibly to be suspended Andrew Quarless, and he could be pretty productive and a solid PPR option.

Not that anyone should be rushing to add him in dynasty leagues, necessarily -- he's got to find a team and a role. But if he gets one before training camp (Green Bay or New Orleans would be intriguing), the potential is there.
