The Seahawks have made Russell Wilson one of the league's highest paid quarterbacks, so you'd like to think they have an exciting, high-end passing offense. But trying to figure out which if any receivers to go after is tricky.
Chris Matthews, who starred in the Super Bowl, is making an impression thus far in camp. He's getting some chances at the top of the receiver rotation, which includes Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, according to the article.
What that means is debatable. Draft Matthews, or avoid Baldwin and Kearse?
A year ago Baldwin led the team with 825 receiving yards and 3 TDs. Kearse was second with 537 yards and 4 TDs. Now the team has added Jimmy Graham to the offense, who will certainly take some targets away from the main wideouts.
Matthews' preseason merits watching, but the ceiling might not be too great in this offense. The best-case scenario (for him) might just be that he cuts into looks for Baldwin and Kearse, making them less compelling, and none of them reliable.
Hard to get too excited about Matthews.
