Antonio Brown put up over 300 yards of offense on Sunday. Would it kill him to get the ball in the end zone? Remarkable, really, that he was able to finish with those numbers without winding up with a touchdown somewhere along the line.
He had 2-3 long receptions where if the ball had been thrown a little more accurately, he would have scored. He also had the game-clinching long ball late, where he caught a mid-range balls and took off down the sidelines, just unable to outrun Charles Woodson and turn it into a long touchdown.
Ultimately, Brown finished with 17 catches for 284 yards, but with no touchdowns.
In the last 30 years, 34 other players have finished with at least 230 yards, and all but one of them (Keenan McCardell) also scored at least one touchdown.
(I am not bitter, by the way, that I was holding Brown in a TD-only league yesterday.)
Brown is a remarkable talent. The Steelers have had a host of great receivers over the years. John Stallworth, Lynn Swann and Hines Ward leading the way, and Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress and Louis Lipps having their moments. But Brown in a lot of his games in the last two years, has seemed to be a on a level above all of those guys.
