Question

In the Super Bowl era, what are the only two teams that have beat an opponent three times in a season, with two of those wins coming on the road? These teams once met in a Super Bowl. With one of the teams, they did it in that Super Bowl season. With the other, their three-game sweep came five years later.

Answer

The Titans did this against the Jaguars, winning the AFC title game in Jacksonville in the 1999 season (and hey, these teams play tonight). They played the Rams in the Super Bowl that year, and in the 2004 season the Rams made the playoffs as a wild card and won at Seattle (they had the Seahawks' number that year).
