Drew Brees has a foot injury, but that won't keep him from playing in New Orleans' game against the Jaguars today. He'll be in and so will Benjamin Watson, according to multiple Sunday morning reports.
That's a plus, of course, for Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead. Those wideouts would have been much less appealing with Matt Flynn in the lineup. Tim Hightower also benefits from what should be a better overall offensive team.
Marques Colston, however, won't play. That's also a plus for the team's other receivers.
Other Sunday morning notes:
Washington's win last night eliminates the Giants. New York won't have Odell Beckham Jr., of course, and won't have much motivation in their game at Minnesota.
Andre Ellington is expected to play for the Cardinals against the Packers. He shouldn't have much effect on David Johnson, who remains a very strong choice; probably just change of pace and some passing downs work for Ellington.
Steven Jackson will be active for the Patriots at the Jets. No one should be seriously considering Jackson, since New England probably won't run the ball much at all. But if the ball happens to wind up at the one-foot line, Jackson might be able to make it into the end zone for a touchdown. Other Patriots news you probably heard: Amendola and Edelman are out. The main receivers should be Brandon LaFell and Keshawn Martin.
Alshon Jeffery won't play for Chicago, but Eddie Royal will.
Doug Baldwin is expected to play for Seattle. He's a gametime decision, but it would reportedly be surprising if he didn't play.
