Alfred Morris

Running back could reestablish relevance in Dallas

Alfred Morris has had a fairly quiet free agent market. He's a wizened 27 years old, and comes off his worst season as a pro; just 751 rushing yards and 3.7 yards per carry. Even in today's pass happy league, he managed to have fewer receptions (12) than games played (16).

But Morris is reportedly going to meet with the Cowboys tomorrow, and that's a spot where he could possibly rehabilitate his fantasy appeal. The Cowboys have only Darren McFadden, and while McFadden has an extensive injury history, Morris hasn't missed a game in his four-year career.

Additionally, in Dallas, Morris would be running behind the league's best offensive line. Last year the team used five different ballcarriers, and every one of them was over 4.0 yards per carry. In Washington, both Morris (3.7) and likely 2016 starter Matt Jones (3.4) were below that.

Morris isn't an exciting back. He'd likely be behind McFadden, and he's a complete non factor as a receiver. But he'd have a nice landing spot both for opportunity (if McFadden gets hurt) and performance behind a stellar line if he signs with the Cowboys.
