Trent Richardson

Bust trying to work his way back

Trent Richardson flamed out so quickly with the Browns and Colts that it's reasonable to believe his NFL career is over. But he's only 25 years old, and it sounds like there's a decent chance he'll resurface with the Ravens this year. If so, maybe he'll come into some fantasy relevance, too.

This story breaks down where Richardson is in his life and possible return to the NFL. It's kind of long, but also interesting, with Richardson conceding "It's very easy to get lazy in the NFL."

Sounds like Richardson has a deal in place with the Ravens, if he's able to get down to a certain weight. Baltimore's backfield can best be described as unsettled; Justin Forsett is an older, smaller back who disappointed last year, and neither of the team's recent draft picks, Lorenzo Taliaferro or Javorius Allen, has proven much.

Richardson still looks like a long shot, but his weight is apparently down, and he had a good workout with the team. The article says he's expected to sign with the team before its offseason workout program begins next month. So you never know.

He didn't show enough even in his rookie season with Cleveland to give anyone confidence in spending a roster spot on him in anything but the deepest dynasty leagues, but there are probably worse uses of that space. Somebody to consider; maybe he's a long shot that pans out.
