Injury roundup: Cobb, Hyde likely out

Roethlisberger gametime call but expected to play

The Sunday morning news reports are filtering in, and we can say with some degree of confidence who will or won't be playing. The big ones involve Randall Cobb, Carlos Hyde and Ben Roethlisberger.

The reports from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com are here.

With Roethlisberger, it sounds like they expect to have him, but will check his knee out in pregame warmups and make the final decision then. So he'll play unless they determine there's swelling or he's not moving well enough around out there. Friday's ranking of Roethlisberger is good.

Randall Cobb isn't expected to play through his hamstring injury. That was how we were leaning on Friday. It's a boost to Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson. The Colts should get Vontae Davis back from a concussion, though, a negative for Green Bay's passing game.

The linked report considers Carlos Hyde a longshot to play for San Francisco. He's dealing with a shoulder injury and probably needs another week. That's big, because the 49ers actually have a solid running game and are facing a lousy Saints defense. DuJuan Harris is expected to be the main runner, with Shaun Draughn in passing situations. I'm using Harris in a league.

In other news, sounds like Amari Cooper (back) is fine, and the Broncos secondary is down a couple of players, which helps his matchup. Also, Jerick McKinnon (ankle) will play against the Lions, so fewer snaps for Matt Asiata.
