The Titans are expected to go hard after a free agent wideout -- maybe Alshon Jeffery, the top performer available at the position, or perhaps Kenny Stills. Plucking a wide receiver away from Miami, after all, worked out well for the team a year ago with Rishard Matthews. There's also a rumor about them exploring a trade for Brandin Cooks.
Without Matthews, the Titans might have achieved the dubious distinction of being the only team without a single wideout to put up at least 750 receiving yards over the last three seasons. Instead they had one, tied with the Rams for fewest such players in the league from 2014-2016. Every other team had at least two such players; more than two-thirds (22) of the league's 32 teams had at least four.
So don't be surprised if the Titans are major players in free agency at wide receiver. They, and the Rams, could use some help.
The number of wide receivers with at least 750 receiving yards on each of the NFL's teams over the last three years is shown below. The Saints, unsurprisingly, had the most such wideouts.
