Question

In NFL history, who are the only two undrafted players who’ve run for more than 100 yards in over 30 games? One played most of his pro ball in the same state where the other played in college.

Answer

Arian Foster and Priest Holmes (with 32 and 31 games). Foster spent most of his career with the Houston Texans, while Priest Holmes played his college ball at Texas before becoming a standout with Kansas City.

Anyone have a guess why these two went Undrafted? They went to top shelf schools, so it’s not like NFL scouts hadn’t had a good look at them. Corey Clement looks like he’ll follow in their footsteps

Neither Holmes nor Foster had stellar college careers. Holmes missed a season with a knee injury and finished with 1,200 career yards -- lots of good running backs at Texas. Foster ran for only 570 yards his final year at Tennessee. I wonder if teams were leery of his quirky personality. He had the deal once where he told reporters he was only answering questions in "Pterodactyl". I don't have the 40 times for those guys; that could have been a factor. As for Clement, he looks like a contributor to me -- setting the bar pretty high to ask him to be anything near as good as those guys.
