Question
The Broncos and Raiders (who play tonight) have competed against each other in the same division for 59 years. Who is the only Hall of Famer who played in regular-season games for both of these franchises?
Answer
Willie Brown. Coming out of Grambling in 1963, Brown wasn’t drafted. He was signed and cut by the Oilers. He signed with Denver and developed into an all-AFL player. He was traded in 1967 to Oakland and became an even more notable player there, helping that team win its first championship. In Super Bowl XI, he returned a Fran Tarkenton interception 75 yards for a touchdown.
