Since the merger in 1970, who are the only two coaches who have gone 1-5 in conference championship games?

John Madden and Andy Reid. Reid went 1-4 in Philadelphia, with the additional loss to New England in January. Madden went 1-5 in AFC Championship games in the ‘70s (he also lost the final AFL Championship game against Kansas City in 1969, so 1-6 in Super Bowl semifinal games). Madden retired from broadcasting 10 years ago today. One other coach has lost 5 times in conference championship games: Tom Landry (5-5 with Dallas in the ‘70s and ‘80s).
