It's the first Sunday of the NFL season, but news keeps right on happening. Here are some of the biggest reports there have been so far that might affect your Week 1 lineup decisions.

  • Happened yesterday, but on the off-chance you were hanging out in a Bio-dome somewhere and missed it, Antonio Brown was released by the Raiders. Tyrell Williams becomes slightly more appealing; somebody has to be the No. 1 there. Brown signed a one-year deal with the Patriots, but is not eligible to play tonight. He will be available in Week 2.

  • If you’re hoping to start a Patriots tight end, Ryan Izzo is the guy. Don’t start him, probably won’t be a part of the passing game. Matt LaCosse is not expected to play. Benjamin Watson, of course, is suspended.

  • Mike Evans (illness) is expected to play. Rarely do players miss for illness.

  • Michael Badgley (groin) won’t play.

  • Adrian Peterson is expected to be inactive for Washington, with Derrius Guice starting.

  • Ian Rapoport says LeSean McCoy is expected to see 15-20 snaps for Kansas City. If that’s correct, it sounds like good news for Damien Williams. These things can change, but something to consider.

  • Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is expected to play. Maybe not 100%.
