Sunday morning news and notes

Ins and outs and weather in Buffalo

It's Sunday morning and it's raining in the New York/New Jersey area (where neither the Jets nor Giants are playing this week, oddly). But there are high winds in Buffalo, and that's something to be wary of if you're considering either passing game from Bills-Eagles.

High winds could work against deep completions to guys like John Brown (pictured). Personally I'm using Josh Allen, but I also have no choice -- adds period has passed and Matt Ryan inactive. But Allen might need to make it on running and short passes, because long balls might be less likely today.

Among the injury developments from the last day or so:

  • Matt Ryan is out and Matt Schaub is in. Downgrade the Falcons passing game some, and upgrade the Seattle defense.

  • Drew Brees is starting for the Saints, but reports have Alvin Kamara sitting out. Latavius Murray, then, is an excellent option for the second straight week.

  • David Johnson is expected to be inactive in that same game. It's a tough run defense, but Chase Edmonds should be solid as a full-time type of running back anyway.

  • Josh Jacobs (shoulder) is expected to play for Oakland. Ranked conservatively, though, given the injury and the fact he could be limited.

  • Davante Adams (toe) not expected to play.

  • Keenan Allen (hamstring) a gametime decision for the Chargers against the Bears. Given the injury and matchup, recommendation is not to use him even if active.

  • Dede Westbrook (shoulder) is expected to play for the Jaguars against the Jets.
