Every Saturday morning, I'll take a quick look at all the week's games, offering my own brief take on what I think will happen, as well as touching on significant injury news since our Weekly came out. I'll check in every so often over the course of the day to answer lineup questions, too.
What follows is a brief look at all the games with how I'd react in my own lineups to injury developments or other news. The official rankings are the ones in the Weekly. Those are the ones that subscribers are paying for, and should take precedence. But sometimes players are very close, and in those cases I'm glad to offer opinions on how I'd approach those situations. Sometimes I like certain players more or less than Ian, and sometimes I have different risk tolerance with injuries etc.
If a guy is 20 spots higher in the rankings, that's a question you probably don't need to ask. Trust the rankings. OK, on to the games.
Jets at Washington: Hard to be excited about either offense, but I'm sending Jamison Crowder out there against his former team, and Terry McLaurin as Washington's only viable receiver. LeVeon Bell is questionable but I'm assuming he's OK and using him. No interest in Washington's ground game -- not Adrian Peterson, not Derrius Guice.
Saints at Bucs: Bucs are consistently awful against the pass, so nice week to use Drew Brees. Would be nice if Alvin Kamara lived up to his high draft status with a big week, but it won't be as a runner against the Bucs defense. Ronald Jones looks fine, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin need to be used. I'm not buying O.J. Howard on his one good game against a Cardinals defense unaware that tight ends operate as receivers.
Broncos at Vikings: I don't much like any offense going into Minnesota to play, and that applies doubly to the Brandon Allen-led Broncos. Denver also plays pretty good defense so Dalvin Cook and Stefon Diggs are the only Vikings I'm using in this one. And their defense, you probably noticed their lofty ranking.
Bills at Dolphins: Dolphins not a punching bag anymore, but Josh Allen, John Brown and Devin Singletary all good choices. For Miami, uh, I will pass on Kalen Ballage. DeVante Parker almost has to be busy and productive, Mike Gesicki too. NFL really needs to space out these divisional games, teams don't need to play each other twice in four weeks.
Jaguars at Colts: Nick Foles is back, and so is Jacoby Brissett. Kind of a big game. Both teams can play some defense, but I'm fine using both main running backs and the top receivers for both teams. Colts tight ends trickier. Eric Ebron targeted a bunch last game, he also dropped a couple. Jack Doyle seems safer in PPR. Jaguars really banged up at tight end so just maybe Josh Oliver gets some looks (but not a guy I'd actually use, just something to keep an eye on).
Cowboys at Lions:Dallas offense should be productive here, Lions can't stop anyone. Question is if Detroit's can keep pace. J.D. McKissic is the only Lions running back I'm interested in, whether Ty Johnson clears the concussion protocol or not. I would have a hard time benching Kenny Golladay but not optimistic about Jeff Driskel's passing game.
Falcons at Panthers: Atlanta stunned the Saints last week. Can they make it two straight? I doubt it, but I do like Brian Hill here. And Carolina's offense against a Falcons defense that surprised the Saints but I'm not buying it here.
Texans at Ravens: Will Fuller a gametime decision. I'm nervous to use him, recalling instances where Bill O'Brien had players active but standing on the sidelines. Though Fuller did practice on a limited basis all week so I'm thinking he'll play, albeit in a tough matchup. Same for Marquise Brown, and his matchup is more favorable. Not totally sold on Baltimore's defense so I wouldn't be shying away from key Texans.
Cardinals at 49ers:Feel like these teams just played, oh right they did. Not using many Cardinals although San Francisco hasn't been great against the run of late, just the committee makes Kenyan Drake and David Johnson somewhat risky options. San Francisco I'm firing up Deebo Samuel and Ross Dwelley, with Kittle "doubtful" and Emmanuel Sanders questionable (no practice all week). Already benched Zane Gonzalez for Chris Boswell, that worked awesome.
Patriots at Eagles: More injuries. No Alshon Jeffery and possibly no Jordan Howard. If you ask me a Jay Ajayi question I'll let you know right now the answer will be NO. But Miles Sanders I like. Even more if Howard's actually out, but that one could go either way. For New England, give me James White and the passing game, not Sony Michel or the ground game.
Bengals at Raiders: Raiders weak against the pass, but I'm not yet sure if Ryan Finley can play. I'm using Joe Mixon but wary of the Cincinnati passing game. Great week to use Josh Jacobs, eh every week is a pretty good week to use him. Need a bounce-back from Darren Waller, and this is a defense for it to happen. I'd chance Tyrell Williams too.
Bears at Rams: I would have been OK with them flexing this game out of the primetime spot. David Montgomery questionable, I expect he'll play but like Tarik Cohen a little more. Allen Robinson too. For the Rams, I'm doubling down on Cooper Kupp, and I'd use Robert Woods, Gerald Everett and Todd Gurley. But nobody should be expecting a high-scoring shootout.
Kansas City versus Chargers: High-scoring shootout! Can't blame anyone starting a mess of players in this one. I think Philip Rivers and the Chargers bounce back with good offensive numbers, and expect the same from Patrick Mahomes, Damien Williams and the main pass catchers. Should be a fun one, will be disappointing if it's not. Either way, a lot of Week 11 matchups will hinge on it. As it should be.
Enjoy the games.
