Kansas City running backs have been a real treat this season. Some of us drafted Damien Williams early, only to have him generally disappoint or get injured just when he was poised to do well. LeSean McCoy, Darrel Williams...they've had their ups and downs. And now there's a new flier.
Kansas City has signed Spencer Ware, who hasn't played yet this year (he was with the Colts in the preseason). He had his best year in Kansas City in 2016, before the days of Patrick Mahomes.
But he was with Kansas City a year ago, and he was better than you might remember in his limited action. His numbers in the offense stack up favorably to all of the team's running backs this year.

Realistically, the Ware signing means only that Damien Williams (rib) and Darrel William (hamstring) won't be available this week. LeSean McCoy will likely start, with Darwin Thompson next man up and maybe Ware sprinkling in.
But you never know. Maybe Ware is a factor in this backfield the rest of the way. Stranger things have happened.
