Remember when Andy Reid explained making LeSean McCoy a healthy scratch as a veteran maintenance issue? Guess he’s saving him for the Super Bowl, because McCoy is inactive for today’s championship game.

That locks in Damien Williams as a workhorse feature back, as anticipated when he played all but 2 snaps last week. Darwin Thompson will get any, minimal change-of-pace work. In the rankings posted this week, it narrows the gap between Derrick Henry and Williams, giving virtually all the assigned production (32 total yards) to McCoy to Williams. (A tiny bit to Thompson.)

Pass rusher Chris Jones is active for Kansas City.

For Tennessee, Adam Humphries (ankle) is active. He’ll return, potentially as the team’s 2nd-best wideout behind A.J. Brown. Either him or Corey Davis. Projections earlier this week assumed that would be the case, and now it’s official.

Most important, looks safe to fire up Williams as an every-down back.
