Should you draft Danny Amendola, don’t hold your breath waiting for him to pile up a bunch of touchdowns. He’s a solid slot receiver, but he’s never been much of a scorer.
Amendola, in fact, is arguably the worst scoring wide receiver of the Super Bowl era. Since the merger in 1970, 113 wide receivers have caught at least 500 passes. Amendola is the only one of those players who’s scored touchdowns on fewer than 4 percent of his receptions.
Only one other wide receiver, in fact, has scored on fewer than 5 percent of his catches. (Remember Frank Sanders?).
Amendola last year caught a touchdown in the season opener at Arizona, but that was his only touchdown all year.
If you draft Amendola, it should be without the hope he might catch 60 passes, but tough to envision him catching more than 3-4 TDs.
