Question
With the Jaguars having dumped Leonard Fournette, Ryquell Armstead is in line to be their leading rusher. Armstead was a fifth-round pick, which is usually an indication that expectations should be modest. Among active players, who are the only two former fifth-round picks who have run for over 1,000 yards in a season (at some point in their career)? They both originally were drafted by teams in the same division.
Answer
Aaron Jones and Jordan Howard. Jones had a monster season for the Packers last year, rushing for 1,084 yards and scoring 19 TDs. Howard had a pair of 1,000-yard seasons for the Bears before being traded to Philadelphia (he’s with Miami now).
