I’m not a big Philip Rivers fan; I think he’s lost too much arm strength and mobility. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he puts up above-average passing numbers in the Thursday night game at Tennessee.

The Titans haven’t been able to get their defense right. Only four teams have allowed more passing yards. Pass rush has been the primary culprit; they’re not generating enough pressure, giving quarterbacks time to pick them apart.

At the halfway point of the season, Tennessee is allowing 285 passing yards per game, with 19 touchdowns.

The last seven quarterbacks to start against the Titans have allow thrown multiple touchdowns. Starting quarterbacks against this defense have completed 67 percent of their passes, and they’ve been sacked only 10 times.

With the Titans being better against the run, some chance that this is a game where Rivers is doing a fair amount, finishing with above-average numbers.
