Question

Who’s the only player in league history who’s had four 1,000-yard receiving seasons with two different teams? This is a difficult one, so keep in mind that we don’t generally ask questions unless there’s a somewhat interesting reason. This question is being asked today – not 10 days ago, and not 10 days from now.

Answer

Derrick Mason. He had four 1,000-yard seasons with Tennessee, and he had another four such seasons for Baltimore. Mason was a fourth-round pick out of Michigan State in 1997. Primarily a special teams player for his first three seasons, he went over 1,000 yards in the 2001-2004 seasons with the Titans. In 2005, he signed a free agent contract with the Ravens, where he had four more 1,000-yard seasons. Baltimore and Tennessee played three times in playoff games in the 2000-2008 seasons, and Mason played in all of those games (twice for the Titans and once for the Ravens). These teams, of course, will play again today.
