Question

Who is the only coach in NFL history to win multiple division titles with three different teams?

Answer

Marty Schottenheimer (who passed away at 77 on Tuesday). Schottenheimer won three AFC Central titles with the Browns in the ‘80s. He captured three AFC West crowns with Kansas City in the ’90s. And he won AFC West titles with the Chargers in 2004 and 2006. As a player, Schottenheimer also won a pair of AFL East titles with the Bills (and was a member of team that won the AFL Championship the season before they started playing Super Bowls). Three other coaches have won division titles with three different teams (but not multiple division titles with all three teams): Chuck Knox, Bill Parcells, Dick Vermeil.
