They finally got it right in 2007 with Calvin Johnson

Poor Matt Millen. His 2002 top-10 pick was no better (Joey Harrington).

Got this one right.

I'd say having back-to-back-to-back-to-back top 10 picks is a reliable indicator of how good a GM you are. And Matt got another 3 years after that!

Even with a disgruntled Favre passing along the playbook to Millen, Lions still couldn't touch the Packers.

The Matt Millen era was not good for the Lions. Their staff couldn't judge talent very well and eventually led to their 0-for 2008 season.

We're doing some re-wiring on the website. The Sunday trivia question wasn't displaying properly. We're looking into it. I don't think the trivia will be back until Monday.

The Lions have one Superbowl era playoff win in their history. They've done a lot of bad drafting. Until now....Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are drafting a team to fit Detroit, mean, tough, and nasty. Here comes the football version of the Bad Boys. A team that everyone hates, except us

I remember Detroit beating Dallas in a playoff game in the Silverdome. Right before Dallas had its nice run. And that's it for the Lions? I guess so. That team got blown out at Washington the next week. I was too young to watch the game, but I think Detroit-Dallas played in the first NFC playoff game (after the merger in 1970) with Cowboys winning by unusual score of 5-0.

Boy, that must've been a doozy.

That was the beginning of 'Doomsday'. Lions had a good defense then, too, with Alex Karras, Lem Barney, Dick LeBeau. Greg Landry wasn't a bad QB, either. Just couldn't dent Doomsday.
