Question
What two teams have currently gone more than 30 years since reaching their last conference championship game?
Answer
Cincinnati and Cleveland. The Bengals last played in an AFC title game when they beat Buffalo at the end of the 1988 season (before losing to San Francisco in the Super Bowl). Cleveland’s last AFC Championship came the next year – a loss at Denver. Four other teams have gone over 20 years without reaching conference championships: Cowboys (1995), Dolphins (1992), Lions (1991) and Football Team (1991). The two Ohio teams will tangle again on Sunday.
