Question

The general expectation is that two Ohio State wide receivers will be chosen in the first round: Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. What are the only other four schools that have had two wide receivers picked in the first round of the same draft?

Answer

Alabama has done this twice recently, with DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle last year and Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs the previous season (in 2019, remarkably, the Crimson Tide had four first-round wide receivers packed onto the same roster). Florida was the first to achieve this, back in 1997 with Reidel Anthony and Ike Hilliard. Miami came next in 2001, with Reggie Wayne and Santana Moss. Louisiana State did it in 2007 with Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis. Ohio State in that 2007 draft also had a pair: Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez.
