Question

Kyle Pitts caught only 28 of the 59 passes thrown his way last year – 47 percent. Who is the only active tight end who’s had a season (with at least 50 targets) where he’s caught an even lower percentage of the balls thrown his way? It happened in 2011.

Answer

Marcedes Lewis. Playing for Jacksonville at the time, Lewis caught 39 of the 85 passes thrown his way that season. This was an impossibly difficult question, but made much more attainable by the hint of it being an active tight end who played in 2011. That’s a long time ago, yet remarkably it was Lewis’ sixth season (he was a first-round pick in 2006).
