Question

Miles Sanders ran for 1,269 yards last year, but with only 78 receiving yards. Who was the last other running back to run for more than 1,200 yards while also finishing with fewer than 100 receiving yards?

Answer

Alfred Morris. Morris ran for 1,613 and 1,275 yards in the 2012-13 seasons, with 77 and 78 receiving yards in those years. Since the merger, 25 running backs have done this. Earl Campbell did it in each of his first three seasons. Two other running backs have done it twice: John Riggins and Rudi Johnson.
