Question

The Bears drafted Roschon Johnson, who played behind Bijan Robinson last year at Texas. They also signed D’Onta Foreman, who ran for 2,028 yards at that school in 2016. It creates the possibility that Chicago’s two leading rushers might both be former Longhorns. It’s early, of course (the Bears also have Khalil Herbert and Justin Fields) but what two schools last year had the two leading rushers on NFL teams?

Answer

Clemson and Oklahoma. For Clemson, Travis Etienne and Trevor Lawrence were the leading rushers for Jacksonville. Oklahoma had two running backs playing for Cincinnati: Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine. This also happened with two other teams the previous season (Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake in Las Vegas and Darrel Williams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire in KC) but it doesn’t happen often. Unofficially, just one other pair of backs in the 32-team era.
