It's Sunday morning and the Jaguars-Falcons game has already become unwatchable, so a quick spin through the injury updates. Not a lot of surprises, but a couple at quarterback, and some other developments.

  • The Raiders had Brian Hoyer active as Jimmy Garoppolo's backup the first three weeks, but they're opting for upside in today's game against the Chargers, starting rookie Aidan O'Connell. O'Connell looked very good in the preseason, and the Chargers are nothing special defensively, especially since they won't have either Derwin James or Joey Bosa. I think Jakobi Meyers slides a little in the rankings, in the 20s (PPR), but I'd still use him, and definitely Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs.

  • Deshaun Watson (shoulder) won't play for the Browns. They'll be down to fifth-rounder Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Unlike O'Connell, DTR did not show anything special in the preseason, and he's facing the Ravens. A downgrade for Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore. Moore I wouldn't use at all. Cooper falls about 12-15 spots in the rankings.

  • Deebo Samuel (ribs/knee) is expected to play through his injuries for the 49ers. I think there's a little risk, and Brandon Aiyuk should still be ranked higher, but Deebo is ranked appropriately in the Friday Update.

  • Also with the Niners, Elijah Mitchell (knee) won't play. Jordan Mason should be the No. 2 behind Christian McCaffrey.

  • Miles Sanders (groin) is expected to play against the Vikings today. Vikings a little better against the run than the pass, but not good defensively, so Sanders is fine to use as ranked.

  • Chase Claypool, who called out the coaching staff last week, is expected to be inactive. Presumably no one had Claypool in their lineups, but just in case. Get him out.

  • Tyler Higbee shows up on the injury report with an Achilles issue. Presumably just sore or something. He's playing.

  • Derek Carr is expected to start for the Saints. Carr supposedly has a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Can't be too serious, though, since he'll be out there throwing the football around. I guess use Carr as normal, since the Saints are. Seems weird to me, but apparently the Saints really don't want to put Jameis Winston in the lineup.
