Question
Only 10 quarterbacks in NFL history have started 100 consecutive regular-season games. (It’s 12 if you count Tom Brady doing it three times.) Who’s the only quarterback who ended two of those streaks?
Answer
Geno Smith. In 2017, the Giants benched Eli Manning after 210 starts, with Smith taking over. And in 2021, Russell Wilson broke a finger, ending his streak at 149 games; Smith took over. Smith spent the 2018 season with the Chargers, with the potential to end a third long streak, but Philip Rivers started all 16 games that year.
