It was announced today that the LA Rams are signing QB Carson Wentz (pending a physical) as back-up QB to starter Matt Stafford.

Rams' QB Matthew Stafford was out Sunday's game against the Packers with a thumb injury, leading to Brett Rypien stepping in as the starter, suffering a 20-3 defeat.

While, Head Coach Sean McVay expressed optimism on Monday for Stafford's return by the next game; the Rams have a bye this week, their decision to sign Carson Wentz suggested a lack of confidence in Rypien as their go-to backup as reports state that Rypien has just been waived.

Wentz, 30, spent 2022 with the Washington Commanders, appearing in just 8 games and throwing for 1,755 yards on 172-for-276 passing with 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

Wentz's tumultuous journey includes a dip in performance with the Commanders, an injury-marred stint, and a departure from the Philadelphia Eagles after a promising start that had once placed him in MVP discussions.
