10-year veteran QB Matt Barkley has been signed to the Giants active roster, replacing Daniel Jones who is out with a season-ending knee injury that requires surgery.

QB Matt Barkley, who was signed to the Giants' practice squad October 31st, is now being signed to the Giants' active roster according to sources.

Barkley may take the starting job after Jones suffered a torn ACL in last week's 30-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Right now, the Giants' active roster includes Barkley and Tommy DeVito with Jacob Eason on the practice squad. The Giants lost another QB, Tyrod Taylor to a ribcage injury Week 8. At this time, there are no plans for Taylor to return this season.

Barkley was originally drafted by the Eagles in the 4th round of the 2013 draft. He then spent three seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2018 to 2020; Giants head coach Brian Daboll was the OC at the time.

Barkley also had stints with the Cardinals, Bears, Bengals, Panthers, and Falcons, playing in 19 career games with 7 starts. He has completed 212 out of 363 pass attempts (58.4 percent) for 2,699 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions.

There's yet to be an announcement on who will start for the Giants against division rivals Dallas Cowboys in this Sunday's matchup in Dallas.
