Jasson Dominguez recovery going according to plan, per Aaron Boone

When he got called up last September, Outfielder Jasson Dominguez had a promising start to his Major League Baseball career. He hit a home run off three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander on the first swing of his first-ever MLB at-bat. He became the youngest player in MLB history to hit a home run in his first plate appearance.

However, he felt discomfort in his elbow after two days. Dominguez was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament on September 10, putting an end to his season nine days after his MLB debut. It was an unfortunate halt because he connected on four home runs in eight games. Dominguez underwent Tommy John surgery, and his recovery period may reach up to ten months.

But Yankees manager Aaron Boone updated Dominguez's road to recovery. In his recent appearance on Jon Heyman's "The Show," Boone shared they expect to see the young outfielder in the summer. He added that while he has been in Tampa during the winter, they are not rushing his comeback.

Boone and the Yankees are excited about his rehabilitation phase and expect him to return any time this season. It would be a big boost for the Yankees to have him back on the roster, especially in power hitting. But as they revealed, they don't want to rush things and jeopardize his return.
