The Chicago Bears have the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft via a trade with the Carolina Panthers, putting them in an excellent position to land one of the top quarterback prospects. Mock drafts have them landing Caleb Williams with that choice.

If so, Justin Fields won’t be in Chicago for long. He will be in the final year of his rookie scale contract, and there’s no indication the Bears will exercise his fifth-year option or sign him to an extension.

Therefore, Fields might not even finish his rookie contract with the team that selected him 11th overall in 2020. However, an emerging team might acquire the former Ohio State standout.

Pro Football Focus Fantasy and Betting tweeted that the betting odds for Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers have significantly moved. It opened at +550 and is now at -125. This trend indicates that it will likely happen, though it’s uncertain.

The Steelers have the 18th pick in the 2024 draft, and the Bears might ask for it as part of a trade package for Fields. But if the fourth-year player will go to the black and yellow, they must fix some aspects of their offense.

Their offensive line needs upgrades, while their play-calling can use some improvement. While Mike Tomlin’s presence boosts Fields’ confidence, young quarterbacks like him will benefit from having an offensive genius who can guide him to success.

Fields has a 10-28 record in three seasons with the Bears and completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 6,674 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions. But being a dual-threat quarterback is his best asset, as proven by his 2,220 yards and 14 touchdowns. Fields holds the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular season game with 178.
