Justin Fields’ status for the 2024 NFL season is up in the air. The Chicago Bears own the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after trading with the Carolina Panthers. They might use that pick to draft a quarterback like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels.

While that’s possible, it’s uncertain until the Bears officially announce it. However, some developments indicate Fields might wear a different uniform in 2024. As noted by the NFL Notifications account on X (formerly Twitter), Fields unfollowed the Bears’ Instagram account and followed Atlanta Falcons players Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson.

Could this activity signify his potential transfer to the Falcons? It could mean other things, especially with NFL players being fans of their fellow players.

Fields has one year left in his four-year, rookie scale contract. If the Bears are convinced he will be their long-term solution at quarterback, they will activate his fifth-year option or offer him a contract extension when the 2024 league year starts.

There are no reports about the Bears giving Fields any of those options, fueling the speculation that the former Ohio State standout will be playing for another team next season.

Hence, there are rumors that Justin Fields will suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers via a trade. But even that isn’t confirmed, and the waiting game continues regarding his destination.
