Question
Bijan Robinson ran for 976 yards last year, with the Falcons falling 24 yards short of having a rookie reach the 1,000-yard mark two years in a row (Tyler Allgeier the previous season ran for 1,035). What is the only team in league history that’s actually pulled this off (having rookies run for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons)?
Answer
Denver. In 1999, Olandis Gary ran for 1,159 yards (in 12 games, after Terrell Davis got hurt). The following year, Mike Anderson led the Broncos with 1,487 rushing yards. Denver had yet another rookie go over 1,000 in 2002, with Clinton Portis.
