Athletes Field agent Trevon Smith told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter that running back D’Andre Swift agreed to a three-year, $24.5 million deal to join the Chicago Bears. The contract can be made official on the first day of the 2024 NFL league calendar.
Swift’s signing with the Bears means his stint with the Philadelphia Eagles will end after one season. However, it was still a successful stint with the NFC East squad, as he finished with 1,049 rushing yards, 214 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns.

As one of the six running backs with 1,000 rushing yards and at least 35 receptions, the former Georgia standout made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2023. He was also the NFC Offensive Player of the Week when he had 175 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Detroit Lions selected Swift in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft after making two All-SEC teams. After three seasons with the Lions, Swift joined his hometown team in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick swap.
In four seasons, Swift has 593 carries for 2,729 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns. He also has 195 receptions for 1,412 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
D’Andre Swift will join a running back rotation with Roschon Johnson, Khalil Herbert, and Travis Homer. Like Swift, Johnson is under contract until 2026. Meanwhile, the 2024 season will be the final year of Herbert and Homer’s current deals.
