Colton Cowser Dominated the Red Sox with 10 RBIs

Baltimore Orioles left fielder Colton Cowser had one RBI in their first three series to open the 2024 Major League Baseball season. He earned that statistic during their April 2 game against the Kansas City Royals, which they lost 4-1.

But after their two-game date with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cowser’s bat went on fire, and the Boston Red Sox were his victims. He had 10 RBIs in three games, helping the Orioles complete the sweep against the nine-time World Series champions.

Cowser had four RBIs from two hits in their series opener against the Red Sox on April 9. Both of his connections were doubles, and he had four total bases in that 7-1 victory. The next day, he had two RBIs from one hit.

The second-year player saved the best for last, scoring four RBIs from two home runs and helping the Orioles earn their eighth victory in 12 games. He earned his tenth RBI against Boston in the top of the tenth inning when he sent Isaiah Campbell’s pitch to right field, extending their lead to 9-3.

The Houston native is hitting .458/.462/.917 to start the season, courtesy of 11 hits in 24 at-bats. He also struck out seven times, earned one base on balls, and completed one stolen base attempt.

More importantly, they are on a three-game winning streak to pull within 1.5 games of the American League East leaders New York Yankees. Cowser and the Orioles will try to continue their hot streak when they start their three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 12 at 7:05 p.m. Eastern Time.
