The injury bug is again hitting the Chicago White Sox. Third baseman Yoan Moncada will be out of action for three to six months due to a left adductor strain. His injury follows Eloy Jimenez, who also suffered an adductor strain on March 31 after hitting a ground ball against the Detroit Tigers.

The White Sox placed him on the 10-day injured list, and there is no definite timetable for his return. Meanwhile, Luis Robert hobbled after running past first base on a double. He will miss up to eight weeks of action after incurring a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain. Robert is on the 10-day injury list but could transfer to the 60-day IL.

The recent injury to Moncada could potentially significantly impact his career with the White Sox. He initially lived up to the hype of being one of baseball's top prospects. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his 2023 and 2024 seasons. This latest setback raises concerns about his future with the team.

The White Sox signed Yoan Moncada to a five-year, $70 million extension after a solid 2019 season in which he hit .315/.367/.548 with 25 home runs and 79 RBIs. However, since then, he played in only 104 games in 2022 and 92 in 2023. Moncada played in 11 games this season before the injury.

Worst yet, Moncada, Jimenez, and Robert's injuries brought the White Sox to 2-14, Major League Baseball's worst record.
